We offer some of the most complete warranties in the dog world. We warrant hips, elbows, and patellas, inherited health, compatibility, and general health, and in full registration dogs, we warrant conformation. We also warrant working ability for adult dogs that are specifically trained and titled.
You must have your dog’s hips and elbows x-rayed between 24 months of age and 26 months of age. At this time you should have your veterinarian evaluate his patellas. This is not an x-ray, only a physical exam. Specific dates will be listed in your contract. You need to make sure your vet makes 2 copies. One has to come to us, and the other needs to be sent to OFA or to Europe for stamping.
If your dog is found to have bilateral dysplasia in hips or elbows, we will pay for a second x-ray 6 months after the first. If the second x-ray still shows dysplastic findings, the Dog will be replaced. This time frame is rarely negotiable. If you do not x-ray in this time frame, and your dog does end up dysplastic, we will not replace your dog. Preliminary films or PennHIP/European Stamp films taken before 24 months, or films taken after 26 months of age will not be considered for replacement.
You have to remember that a female’s joints will be looser around a heat cycle. You should not x-ray a dog within 8 weeks before or after a cycle. You MUST keep track of her cycles and plan accordingly. If she has irregular cycles or comes into heat right at 24 months of age, you need to let us know and send us documentation from your vet, and we will give you written permission to x-ray 8 weeks after the first heat cycle after 22 months. If x-rays show dysplastic findings, and your female comes into heat within 8 weeks after the x-ray, you must re-do the x-rays at least 8 weeks after the next cycle.
UNILATERAL hip or elbow dysplasia is not warranted, as this is caused by over-exercise, overfeeding, improper feeding, or injuries. Your dog is only warranted if both hips OR both elbows are dysplastic. A fair rating is NOT dysplastic and we will not replace your dog.
You must request that your vet allow you to review the x-rays to check positioning and clarity BEFORE they submit the x-rays. If you review the films and find the position or clarity bad, it is much easier to have your vet retake the x-rays and only pay for good submission. Dysplastic findings due to bad positioning (one of the leading causes of failed hip certifications) or unclear films will not grant you a replacement. This is the reason that we require a copy of the x-rays for our review.
You are required to have your dog screened by a veterinary ophthalmologist for an OFA CAER screening between 12 and 15 months of age. If your dog gets a CAER Ineligible Code, then he did not pass certification, you must contact us, and we will replace your dog. If your dog gets a Breeder Option Code, this is still a passing score, and your dog will not be replaced. However, you need to let us know about Breeder Option Codes, so we can make informed decisions on our breeding program.
We take genetic health very seriously. Your dog as well as his parents, were screened for genetic diseases and defects. We warrant against all inherited health problems for life. If, at any point in your dog’s life, he develops a condition that your vet believes is inherited in nature, you must contact us as soon as you get the diagnosis. We will pay for your dog to see a specialist. If the specialist agrees that the problem is inherited, your dog will be replaced.
Your dog goes home with a State of Florida health certificate, showing he saw our vet before pickup/shipment. He has also had vaccines and a parasite control regimen, which is 100% documented for you. You have 48 hours to have your dog seen by a veterinarian of your choosing. If, during this vet visit, or in the first 5 days after acquisition, he is diagnosed with any infectious, or contagious disease, we will pay all vet bills, or we will pay to have him euthanized and replace him, provided you did not allow your vet to restart vaccines or give any vaccine that is not approved in our contract.
You should note, however, that this warranty does not cover internal or external parasites, giardia, or coccidiosis. This warranty is also null and void if you allow your veterinarian to restart the combo vaccines or to follow a different vaccine protocol than is written in the contract. We cannot stress this enough. Over-vaccination is just as dangerous to puppies and dogs as under-vaccination is. Veterinarians, for the most part, do not understand this concept.
It is important to us that all of our dogs go to suitable homes. This is why we have such an extensive questionnaire.
We guarantee that, provided you were completely honest on your buyer questionnaire, and you take your dog through the obedience training DVDs we have provided, then your dog will fit into your family, home, and lifestyle.
If, however, for one reason or another, your new dog is not fitting into your home, we will replace your dog. This guarantee is valid from days 10-14 after acquisition. This gives your dog time to adapt to your home, family, and rules. If by day 10, he is temperamentally incompatible with your family, you must contact us, and we will walk you through some problem-solving. If this does not work in the next few days, we will take him back and try again.
However, if the incompatibility is due to false information that you gave us on your questionnaire, or you do not attempt to go through the training DVD, we do not warrant compatibility, and this warranty will be void.
We do not warrant general temperament. The reason for this is that a dog’s temperament is only about 20% inherited and influenced by life before 12 weeks or so. The remainder of the 80% of his temperament is influenced by his training, socialization, and treatment past 12 weeks of age. This means that you have the greatest responsibility regarding his temperament and personality, and we are not responsible for this. We will help you deal with temperament issues if they crop up but we will not replace dogs for these issues.
For adult dogs, trained and titled/certified, and purchased for a specific working role, we guarantee that the dog will work for you in the capacity that he is trained. This guarantee is only valid between 10 and 14 days after acquisition because you have to spend some time getting to know your dog, and bonding with him before you can expect him to work to full capacity.
This warranty is only valid for full registration dogs. If by 24 months of age, your dog has been shown at least 5 times, under 3 different AKC, CKC, UKC, and/or FCI judges, and has not received at least one Winners/Reserve Winners Dog or Bitch, or is ever disqualified in any AKC, CKC, UKC, or FCI show for conformation reasons, you must contact us. If your dog is disqualified for any conformation reason, your dog will be replaced immediately. If your dog has not placed in any show, you must send statements from the judges that your dog was shown under, and 3 other statements.
All statements should have the individual's name, address, phone number, and experience as well as an evaluation of your dog’s faults. Statements should be from judges whom your dog has not been shown under, responsible breeders, handlers, or trainers dealing with similar bloodlines.
Note: failure to place, or disqualification for non-conformation reasons (I.e. judge’s preference, dog’s behavior, temperament, lack of training or control, improper body condition, improper grooming, handler errors in the ring, etc.) do not qualify for replacement. Replacement only occurs if your dog has specific conformation faults.
Along with the statements and letters, you are required to send us videos of your dog gaiting, and a 360-degree close-up of your dog stacking. All videos must be clear enough for evaluation. If they are not clear enough, or you simply prefer, you may bring your dog at your expense to our kennel for a personal evaluation. If we agree that your dog is not breeding quality, we will replace your dog.
This warranty includes bites, ears standing, and testicles descending.
We do not, under any circumstances warrant or guarantee fertility or potency on any dog we sell. We also do not warrant the size of litters or the health or quality of any puppies produced by your dog. We do not guarantee that your stud can and will successfully tie with a female, and we cannot guarantee that your female can and will whelp her puppies naturally without c-section or vet intervention, then properly care for her puppies without intervention and assistance.
Part of the reason is that reproduction abilities are mostly influenced by care, diet, and the current condition of the dog. We cannot control that your dog will receive the proper care and diet for maximum reproduction, therefore we cannot ensure that your dog can be bred successfully.
If your dog needs to be replaced for any reason, we first need a statement from your veterinarian. This must be on official letterhead, and include your name, your dog’s name, and your dog’s microchip number. This letter must state the exact problem, and the steps that have been taken so far to correct the problem. You must send in all signed registration papers, and videos of your dog, gaiting, and a 360-degree video of your dog stacked. These videos must be clear enough for evaluation.
If these photos show that the dog looks like he is overweight, underweight, abused, or neglected, there will be no replacement and we may contact your local animal welfare agency for a home check.
If the replacement request is valid, we may pay to have dog euthanized or give you the choice to return your dog to us at your expense, or neuter and keep him.
Your replacement dog will be sent to you at your expense, as soon as he is located. It may take some time to locate one, as we replace each dog with one of equal and comparable bloodlines and quality. The replacement dog is not covered by any warranties whatsoever.
Not usually. The only way our warranties are transferable, are if the original owner contact us with the new owner’s information, and the new owner signs a buyer contract with us. If the original owner dies, is institutionalized, or is incarcerated, the next of kin or executor of the estate may contact us and sign a new buyer contract. If the original buyer is deployed overseas, the owner may contact us, and we will temporarily transfer warranties to a spouse, parent, or other relative that is taking care of the dog stateside.
All warranties and guarantees will be voided if you do any of the following:
We use a very controlled vaccine and parasite control regimen with all of our dogs.
For vaccines, we use a specific protocol for puppies and rarely vaccinate adults.
Our puppies and adults get vaccinated as follows:
Then, if needed every 12 months - Nobivac Intra-Trac3, Nobivac Canine Lepto4, Nobivac Lyme, Nobivac Canine Flu Bivalent
Every 3 years - Rabies
For our litters, we also have a strict parasite control regimen:
All of our adult dogs get Nexguard and Interceptor Plus monthly, year-round. Even our breeding dogs are kept on parasite control every month. In our eyes, the risk of parasites is too great for us to take our breeding girls off prevention.
